Delta Awards 2012

ADI-FAD, FAD’s Industrial Design Association, launches a new edition of the Delta Awards. Since the first edition in 1961, the purpose of this competition is to encourage public recognition of those products which stand out because of their innovative character, for their conceptual originality, the response among the public and their environmental impact, as well as their design and manufacturing quality.

The 35ª edition of Delta Awards will be incorporated once more to the programme of FADfest, the great design festival which will take place in Barcelona (Spain) between June 26 and July 14th.

The deadline for product submissions is 19 March 2012. The 2012 Delta Awards are therefore open to products designed and produced by companies and designers worldwide, as long as these products are widely distributed in the Spanish market. Designers and companies may enter for the awards themselves or at the invitation of ADI-FAD. Participation is limited to products which have been available in the Spanish market from January 1, 2009, and which have not been entered for previous editions of the Delta Awards.

The international jury of the new edition of the Delta Awards will be formed by: Glenn Adamson, Curro Claret, Marcus Fairs, Pekka Konvermaa, Alejandro Mesonero-Romanos, Viviana Narotzky and Anatxu Zabalbeascoa.

ADI-FAD was created with two main objectives: to promote the connection between designers and the world of business, and to make industrial design directly engaged in public, social and cultural life. Both of these aspirations lay behind the creation of the Delta Awards for the best industrial design.
